TPSL's GOAL is to aid Growers in getting the most from their investment in a crop.
What is a soil test??
A reliable soil test includes three (3) parts.
1. - Proper sampling field & crop history & yield goals.
2. - Chemical tests for nutrients available for crop growth.
3. - Plus reliable recommendations for nutrients & amendments needed to attain desired yield goals.
Why use a soil test??
TO GET OUT OF THE GUESSING GAME, START predicating what balance of plant nutrients are needed to attain the most economical yields and crop quality. ANY TEST IS BETTER THAN A GUESS.
Why do recommendations from labs differ??
Laboratories use different procedures and chemicals for extracting plant and soil nutrients. Interpretations of these tests also can differ, even when IDENTICAL samples are compared.
Why are TPSL's tests and recommendations superior to other Laboratories??
1. - Most Labs use strong chemicals for extracting plant nutrients and soil minerals. Only small portions of these large amounts of nutrients are available to plant roots. Especially true with Potash, Magnesium, & Calcium.
2. - TPSL uses Carbon Dioxide (CO2) (which occurs naturally, secreted by plant roots) to extract the plant nutrients that are available for root absorption and plant growth. This method is not subject to automation.
3. - TPSL's standard analysis includes many other tests which affect nutrient uptake, such as soil texture, humus content, nitrates, free carbonates, total salts, amount of soluble salt cations. These tests are important for making the most accurate soil fertilizer recommendations possible. Our extraction mimics the natural action of the plant roots. Available Potash - Magnesium - Calcium, especially soluble Calcium are determined.
4. - Other laboratories use Cation Exchange Capacity (C.E.C.) and percent base saturation methods that often generate inaccurate evaluations at lower costs. However, when other laboratories perform the additional TPSL tests needed for better recommendations, their charges often are higher than what TPSL charges.
5. - TPSL Natural CO2 method works well on acid or alkaline soils in all areas of the world where plants grow.
6. - TPSL Staff Experienced in farming, research, consulting, testing, walking fields and yards.
7. - Methods and Philosophies in building productive, healthy soils with good organic matter levels.
8. - Emphasis on humus content (humate) as the key to nutrient availability for Profitable Yields and Quality.
9. - Use Albrecht System of fertility balancing as a guide to recommendations.
10. - Results of TPSL soil tests and fertilizers applied are being evaluated continually using plant analysis to calibrate actual nutrient uptake for Maximum Economic Yields using Best Management Practices.
